Queer LifeSpace is offering an exciting opportunity for postgraduate internships. You can be a part of San Francisco’s newest non-profit that serves the LGBTQQI community.
We are looking to interview potential interns who want to give at least 12 hours a week service to our agency. Those 12 hours include 10 clinical hours and two group supervision hours. There will also be the opportunity to provide outreach to the community. We are asking for a 12 month commitment.
Queer LifeSpace’s vision and goal is to serve our wonderfully diverse community. To accomplish this, it is imperative that we continue to work towards reflecting this diversity in our clinicians that work with our client base.
As part of our work towards serving our community and combatting the continued existence of employment discrimination and general lack of diversity within our mental health profession, Queer LifeSpace has chosen to be an equal opportunity/affirmative action organization.
All interested individuals, but especially those who identify as people of color, disabled, HIV +, transgender or gender variant, are urged to apply. We are also actively seeking Spanish speaking trainees and interns.
This internship program is coordinated by Nancy Heilner, LCSW, who has over 20 years of clinical supervisory experience. She was involved with New Leaf: Services For Our Community from 2004 until 2010 as a volunteer and then Clinical Manager of the Adult Substance Abuse Program and HIV Mental Health Program. Her particular areas of interest are trauma and substance abuse recovery.
Please send a letter of interest and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 415-358-2000 x 363.
