Queer LifeSpace Featured on KTVU Fox 2 News for 15 Years of LGBTQIA+ Mental Health Care

Executive Director Ryan MacCarrigan interviewed by veteran KTVU Fox 2 news anchor Pam Cook

Queer LifeSpace was featured live on KTVU Fox 2 News on Tuesday, June 2, in a segment honoring the organization’s 15th anniversary and its work expanding access to affordable, queer-affirming therapy in the Bay Area. Executive Director Ryan MacCarrigan spoke with veteran KTVU morning anchor Pam Cook about the growing need for accessible LGBTQIA+ mental health services, the barriers many queer and trans people face when seeking affirming care, and Queer LifeSpace’s mission to serve economically vulnerable clients while training the next generation of queer-affirming clinicians.

Since its founding in 2011, Queer LifeSpace has served nearly 8,000 clients and delivered more than 60,000 therapy sessions. Individual therapy begins at just $30 to $40 per session, helping ensure that cost is not the barrier that prevents LGBTQIA+ people from getting the support they need.
