Queer LifeSpace was featured live on KTVU Fox 2 News on Tuesday, June 2, in a segment honoring the organization’s 15th anniversary and its work expanding access to affordable, queer-affirming therapy in the Bay Area. Executive Director Ryan MacCarrigan spoke with veteran KTVU morning anchor Pam Cook about the growing need for accessible LGBTQIA+ mental health services, the barriers many queer and trans people face when seeking affirming care, and Queer LifeSpace’s mission to serve economically vulnerable clients while training the next generation of queer-affirming clinicians.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Amador Obscura transformed the historic Amador Club into a decadent, multi-level world of mystery, performance, and queer theatrical spectacle. Directed by Michael Phillis and created in collaboration with Peaches Christ Productions, the evening blurred the line between audience and performance through hidden encounters, lavishly staged moments, and a fever-dream atmosphere that felt part fundraiser, part secret-society ritual, and part queer nightlife fantasy.

On February 28, 2025, Queer LifeSpace (QLS) hosted its Annual Art Show & Auction, bringing together artists, advocates, and supporters for a night of celebration and purpose. Held at The Academy SF, this event was not just an art showcase. It was a powerful statement about resilience, creativity, and the importance of supporting emerging queer artists.

We’re happy to announce that Queer LifeSpace (QLS) has been awarded a Community Issues Grant for 2025-2026 by our long-term partner the Horizons Foundation. This generous two-year grant allows us to continue providing affordable access to mental health services for the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

On Friday, October 18th, 2024, the iconic Sui Generis Designer Consignment in San Francisco’s Castro district transformed into a vibrant scene of fashion, community, and mental health advocacy for the Style & Soul fundraiser benefiting Queer LifeSpace (QLS). Hosted by Sui Generis and headlined by the fabulous Juanita MORE!, this in-store event combined high fashion with a powerful message: that personal style and mental wellness go hand in hand.

This Halloween-themed special edition of One Market’s SIZZLE series will not only deliver an exhilarating drag show but also support a vital cause—affordable mental health care for San Francisco’s LGBTQIA+ community.

This week is Bisexual Awareness Week, a vital time to celebrate and recognize the experiences of bisexual+, pansexual, and queer individuals who often find themselves overlooked in discussions about the LGBTQIA+ community. Bisexual Awareness Week, which runs annually from September 16-23, aims to elevate bisexual visibility and combat the unique stigmas that bisexual people face both within and outside the queer community.

The August 2024 gathering of Flagging in the Park was a vibrant celebration of life, art, and community held in the National AIDS Memorial Grove. Under the warm San Francisco sun (a rarity in August!), more than 300 people gathered to share in the beauty of flow arts — specifically, the art of flagging — which originated as a way to express freedom during the height of the AIDS crisis. This was the second time Queer LifeSpace was selected as a beneficiary, and it was a tremendous success. With the support of the Flagging in the Park community, the event raised $2,938 in donations, all of which will directly fund our mental health programs for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
